About the role

  • Assist with the design and documentation of building automation systems including wiring diagrams, point layouts, control sequences, hardware selections, and integration strategies
  • Support development and implementation of software programs for building automation systems and create graphical user interfaces (GUIs) for system visualization and control
  • Participate in testing and verification of building automation programming and interfaces prior to field implementation
  • Maintain and update as-built documentation, drawings, and system details using Microsoft Visio, Excel, and Word
  • Prepare technical documentation including system architecture diagrams, test reports, and installation guides
  • Complete required documentation such as timesheets, expense reports, work order postings, site documentation, and project status updates
  • Collaborate with project teams and coordinate daily activities with engineering supervisors and lead engineers
  • Track and report project progress, communicate design revisions, and raise technical concerns to lead project personnel

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Building Automation, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Science
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Must be a US Citizen or able to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Basic understanding of HVAC systems, electrical systems, computer science, or building automation principles (preferred)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Visio, Outlook)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a project-based environment
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative in solving engineering challenges
  • Prior experience in HVAC and/or building automation (preferred)
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or other drafting tools (preferred)
  • Exposure to programming or scripting (e.g., line code, ladder logic, block programming) (preferred)
  • Experience with controls hardware (e.g., sensors, actuators, relays) or hands-on technical projects (preferred)
