About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Foster and promote a culture of continuous improvement across accounting processes and team practices
- Lead, coach, and develop a diverse accounting team, supporting both performance and career growth
- Oversee and manage the month-end close and consolidation processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Review and approve monthly journal entries in accordance with accounting standards
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of account reconciliations, while driving ongoing improvements in reconciliation processes
- Provide accounting guidance and support to cross-functional stakeholders (Finance, Sales, Operations, etc.)
- Maintain and continuously enhance accounting standard work instructions (SWIs) and documentation
- Prepare and/or review monthly and quarterly balance sheet fluctuation analyses
- Support SOX compliance and internal control activities
- Manage accruals and reserves, including inputs and detailed balance sheet reviews
- Prepare and review ERP trial balances or CFIN for HFM submission, including all required supplemental data
- Collaborate closely with CFOs and business/finance partners to support decision-making and business performance
- Contribute to ad hoc projects and initiatives as requested by the Controller and business/finance leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of experience in Accounting/Finance with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance / Commerce / Economics / Business Administration, or 4+ years of experience in Accounting/Finance with a Master’s Degree in Accounting / Finance / Commerce / Economics / Business Administration.
- 3+ years people management experience.
- CPA or CMA preferred, but not required.
- Strong PC skills including Microsoft Excel, ERP Applications, SAP, and HFM.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of accounting principles and internal control procedures.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present recommendations effectively to management.
- Adaptable/Self starter.
- Attention to detail and delivering a quality work product on time.
- Ability to work cross-functionally to solve business process issues.
- Experience with software accounting a plus.
