About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive the deployment, standardization, and continuous improvement of preventive quality methods to build robust, stable, and capable processes across CSE-R manufacturing sites.
  • Sets own day-to-day objectives in Carrier Excellence/Continuous Improvement and provides input and/or guidance to others.
  • Responsible for moderate to significant improvements of processes, systems and/or products to enhance quality performance.
  • Lead the deployment of core quality tools within Operations: Control Plans, Process FMEA, SPC, Special Characteristics management (ProCert), and MSA. Ensure consistent application of these tools across all manufacturing sites.
  • Define standards, templates and governance for the methodologies as well ensure the interface with QE Lead Competence Area FMEA/Control Plan
  • Collaborate with the Operational Excellence, Production and Ind. Engineer teams to embed preventive quality tools into broader operational frameworks and product lifecycle process.
  • Act as a bridge between Quality Operations and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on methods, expectations and implementation timelines.
  • Develop and deliver training / coaching approach on preventive methods. Build organizational capability by coaching teams on the effective use of quality tools.
  • Analyze process data, PFMEA outputs, MSA results, SPC trends and COPQ drivers to identify gaps and improvement opportunities. Lead and support improvement initiatives (as part of Schedule Q) tied to process capability, early risk detection, standard work optimization and variation reduction. Facilitate the exchange of best practices and lessons learned across sites.
  • Define KPIs and maturity indicators for the deployment and effectiveness of preventive methods (P-FMEA maturity, SPC Coverage, MSA Compliance). Regularly present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University degree in Engineering or similar
  • Several years of professional experience (ideally 5 years) in Quality Management System, with a focus on preventive methods (Process FMEA, Statistical Process Control, Control Plan) in manufacturing environment
  • Experience managing and collaborating with cross-functional teams and working with senior management
  • Deep understanding of preventive quality tools: PFD, Control Plan, PFMEA, SPC, Special Characteristics, and MSA.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and quality improvement methodologies.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional kaizen or improvement programs and influence stakeholders across functions.
  • Strong collaboration skills to align cross-functional teams toward common operational excellence goals.
  • Capable of developing training programs to enhance the skills of the quality team.
  • Experience in coaching team members to improve overall quality performance.
  • Analytical mindset to identify root causes and propose data-driven solutions.
  • Strong decision-making abilities to prioritize and execute quality initiatives.
  • Ability to translate complex quality topics into actionable messages, strong presentation skills for leadership and conflict resolution and alignment building.
  • Balancing compliance, efficiency and business impact, supporting the organisation in building a culture of quality as competitive advantage.
  • Extensive knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and experience overseeing ISO 9001 and other relevant quality standards (e.g., IATF 16949)
  • Solid knowledge in Automotive Core Tools in quality management such as FMEA, SPC, MSA, APQP, PPAP
  • Product knowledge in heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC) (desired)
  • German and English required
