About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and maintain an expert-level knowledge of current and legacy rental systems products.
  • Collaborate with sales and customers directly to support rental applications across a broad spectrum.
  • Analyze and review engineering specifications to ensure that the planned equipment usage will satisfy the customer's cooling, heating, and electrical needs.
  • Develop project proposals based on customer needs and provide application design assistance.
  • Planned, generate, release, and maintain engineering specification sheets, technical documentation, and specialized product documentation for all rental systems product offerings.
  • Prepare standardized installation layouts needed in assisting the sales team.
  • Generate request for quote (RFQ) documents and secure bid proposals for both purchasing new equipment and packaging of equipment for rental use.
  • Maintain equipment purchasing files on all new equipment for traceability including creating specification sheets.
  • Travel to project and vendor sites (when required) to act as a technical expert on behalf of Carrier Rental Systems.
  • Perform load calculations, based on known customer data to assist sales in accurately specifying equipment.
  • Assist in defining equipment nomenclature and maintaining documents associated with all rental equipment.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with HVAC focus.
  • 3+ Years of experience in Engineering with Rentals applications experience preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD or similar engineering software.
  • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints and have a detailed understanding of basic electrical and mechanical control systems.
