About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Overseeing supplier selection and contract negotiation
- Partnering with internal clients and stakeholders to identify sourcing needs and improve sourcing strategy
- Contributing to all phases of the Product Development Life Cycle, from design to implementation, testing, release and sustaining
- Leading cost reduction efforts by identifying material productivity opportunities, conducting spend analysis, and implementing value engineering initiatives
- Developing and executing category strategies that align with business objectives
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders (e.g., engineering, operations, finance)
- Identifying and mitigating supply chain risks through diversification, contingency planning, and sustainability initiatives
- Building and maintaining robust supplier relationships through regular performance reviews
Requirements
What you’ll need- B.E/B.Tech. from a premier institute is a must, MBA preferred
- 12-16 years of category management experience, preferably in HVAC industry
- Ability to work in a global environment with global stakeholders across multiple countries
- Strategic thinking- ability to think through and independently define priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and exposure to engineering drawings, cost reduction, Value analysis and value engineering efforts, negotiation process
- Strong desire to drive for results, sense of accountability for self and others
- Strong program management skills, including change management
- Self-directing and self-motivating
