About the role
- Design of mechanical components and systems in 3D CAD
- Definition of module interfaces, monitoring of module variants across different product platforms, including design reviews
- Development and maintenance of the module strategy and roadmap, including implementation of new technologies and customer specifications
- Technical leadership of the team regarding module work packages and technical development
- Management of variants and modular architecture with associated KPIs, especially schedule and budget
- Support on design issues related to modules and their parameters
- Drive module lifecycle projects, particularly in cost reduction and quality improvement
- Assess the technical feasibility of ideas/innovations in close collaboration with advanced development, the testing department and product management
- Specification and design of components, coordination with suppliers, part qualification and industrialization through to introduction into series production
- Drive module development in collaboration with the system integrator, platform owner, product management, project management, quality department and manufacturing
- Definition of design standards and guidelines, component specifications and qualification standards
- Participation in international development teams
- The role requires a high degree of independence, flexibility and a strong sense of responsibility.
Requirements
- Dipl.-Ing. / MSc in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Engineering with 5–7 years of professional experience, ideally in the design of refrigerated display cases or household appliances
- Strong expertise in the design of mechanical systems, component development (metal, plastic) and manufacturing processes
- Advanced skills in 3D CAD (ideally Solid Edge), PLM/BOM systems (ideally SAP/R3), and Office 365 (Excel, PowerPoint and Teams)
- Good command of English and German
- At least 3 years of experience in technical/team leadership
- Strong communication skills, flexibility and the ability to work in a team
- Willingness to travel (approx. 10%) and to work in an international/intercultural environment.
