About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop, implement, and oversee workplace health and safety programs
- Ensure compliance with regulations like OSHA
- Conduct risk assessments and provide employee training
- Investigate incidents and foster a strong safety culture
- Conduct daily inspections and analyze safety data
- Report to management and act as a liaison with regulatory bodies
- Implement environmental, health, and safety (EHS) policies, procedures, training, inspections, and audits
- Assist with EHS inspections of the distribution center
- Drive consistency with safety incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Champion safety initiatives and promote a proactive safety culture
- Serve as point of contact for safety with internal teams and external entities
- Coordinate accident investigations and safety review meetings
- Daily monitoring reports and impacts using i-warehouse software
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills
- Prior Environmental, Health and Safety Experience in distribution center environments
- Knowledge of appropriate emergency response protocols
- Strong organizational skills
- Solid problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Excellent attendance and willingness to be part of a team
- MS Office Proficient: Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel (Intermediate to Advanced)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and possess research skills
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, ability to work under pressure, and be a fast learner
- Flexibility to work and support DC shift schedules as required
- Independent worker with ability to manage own workload with minimal supervision or direction
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
- Prior safety and warehouse experience to include ability to operate powered industrial trucks required
- Experience with Safety Management Systems such as KPA/Novara Flex preferred
