About the role
- identify, shape, apply, conduct, and lead engineering research
- work with and lead interdisciplinary teams to turn research results into prototype capabilities
- conduct and lead novel prototyping in applied artificial intelligence
- work with AI Division leaders to plan overall research and engineering strategy
- actively participate on teams of software developers, researchers, and designers
- mentor and teach others to improve overall technical capabilities
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science or related discipline with eight (8) years of experience; MS in the same fields with five (5) years of experience; PhD in Computer Science with two (2) years of experience
- hands-on experience in applied artificial intelligence and machine learning
- strong understanding of robotics principles
- experience applying machine learning to real-world problems
- design and conduct test and evaluation activities for ML components
- experience with model experimentation software like MLFlow or Weights & Biases
- strong development experience with AI and ML prototypes
- familiarity with simulation environments
