About the role

  • Produce interlinear gloss for Diné/Navajo sentences
  • Interact with other native language speakers to compare challenges in morpheme segmentation and interlinear gloss creation
  • Engage/consult with linguists as needed for guidance on linguistic analysis and methodology
  • Assist with the final stages of a research paper, including editing, formatting, and content refinement
  • Maintain regular communication with faculty, staff, and students regarding project progress

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Familiarity with or expertise in the Diné/Navajo language is highly desirable
  • A strong interest in linguistics, language technologies, or computational linguistics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage variable weekly hours
  • A combination of education and meaningful experience from which comparable knowledge is proven may be considered
  • Successful background check investigation
