About the role
- Negotiates and implements broadcast buys, enters information into tracking system, maintains contracts, and performs post-analysis
- Collaborates internally, supports presentations to clients, and maintains positive industry relationships
- Supports Broadcast Manager on platform level initiatives and media negotiations
- Keeps teams/department abreast of developments in broadcast industry
- Local broadcast negotiations and understanding principles of local radio and television negotiations
- Develops market expertise in large and small DMAs
- Cultivates relationships with vendors and other outside entities
- Works closely with media strategy team on broadcast planning rates
- Maintains buying activity on Media Ocean OX, evaluates and accepts makegoods, and reconciles monthly invoices
- Maintains professional, can-do attitude, demonstrates initiative, and maintains effective communication
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, or a closely-related field.
- 2+ years minimum in media department, current title Assistant Buyer or greater.
- Experience with broadcast media buying (national and local).
- Experience working across multiple clients, working with multiple departmental teams
- Experience with other (Digital) video formats FEP, OTT, VOD etc. a plus
- Experience with brand, DRTV, and other buying forms a plus
- Proven passion, drive and active knowledge of new and emerging media
