About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Oversee technical procedures, patient care, and workflows in the echocardiography laboratory
Perform routine and complex echocardiographic sonography imaging procedures
Critique positioning, technical factors, alignment, and imaging quality
Review patient data for accuracy, quality, and completeness
Document studies accurately and completely
Cross-train to other divisions of CV Services
Administer contrast when needed and not contraindicated
Complete study documentation and charges in Epic and preliminary information in Xcelera for physician reading
Participate in weekday and weekend call rotations
Perform Exercise Stress, Dobutamine Stress, adult, pediatric, and transesophageal echocardiography testing
Provide compassionate care and quality studies to community patients
Advance knowledge through constructive learning and teaching

Requirements

What you’ll need

Associate's Degree in Sonography or Certificate of Completion in a related field
Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 30 days
1+ years of previous healthcare experience
Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks while coordinating patient flow
Positive attitude and proven willingness to assess and improve the work environment
Ability to perform authorized CLIA tests with skill commensurate with education, training, experience, and technical abilities
Ability to follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analysis, reporting, and record maintenance
Ability to perform quality control, calibrations, and maintenance documentation
Ability to follow corrective action policies and document corrective actions
Ability to identify problems affecting test performance or result reporting and correct them or notify appropriate clinical or laboratory leadership
