About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee technical procedures, patient care, and workflows in the echocardiography laboratory
- Perform routine and complex echocardiographic sonography imaging procedures
- Critique positioning, technical factors, alignment, and imaging quality
- Review patient data for accuracy, quality, and completeness
- Document studies accurately and completely
- Cross-train to other divisions of CV Services
- Administer contrast when needed and not contraindicated
- Complete study documentation and charges in Epic and preliminary information in Xcelera for physician reading
- Participate in weekday and weekend call rotations
- Perform Exercise Stress, Dobutamine Stress, adult, pediatric, and transesophageal echocardiography testing
- Provide compassionate care and quality studies to community patients
- Advance knowledge through constructive learning and teaching
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's Degree in Sonography or Certificate of Completion in a related field
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 30 days
- 1+ years of previous healthcare experience
- Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks while coordinating patient flow
- Positive attitude and proven willingness to assess and improve the work environment
- Ability to perform authorized CLIA tests with skill commensurate with education, training, experience, and technical abilities
- Ability to follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analysis, reporting, and record maintenance
- Ability to perform quality control, calibrations, and maintenance documentation
- Ability to follow corrective action policies and document corrective actions
- Ability to identify problems affecting test performance or result reporting and correct them or notify appropriate clinical or laboratory leadership
