About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assess patients' status through interview, observation, and physical assessment
- Develop individualized plans of care collaboratively with patients, families, and the health care team
- Implement appropriate interventions and evaluate and document patient progress
- Modify plans of care based on evaluations and changes in patient condition
- Complete required patient chart and event-report documentation
- Demonstrate professional accountability and pursue continued self-development
- Demonstrate technical knowledge of equipment and troubleshoot problems
- Maintain current knowledge and skills in evidence-based nursing practice
- Promote professional development of self and team members
- Share clinical knowledge through informal teaching
- Address patient moving and handling issues and promote patient and staff safety using lift equipment
- Obtain adequate laboratory specimens and perform bedside laboratory testing with associated quality control
- Collaborate with the health care team from admission through discharge to meet expected outcomes
- Assess and select age-appropriate patient and family teaching strategies
- Participate in data collection, analysis, problem solving, process improvements, and patient satisfaction initiatives

Requirements
What you’ll need- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Bachelor's Degree
- H.S. Diploma/GED
- Ability to work 3 twelve-hour day shifts per week, 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
- Willingness and availability to work every weekend
- Willingness and availability to work every other holiday
- No on-call requirement
