About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform venipuncture and skin puncture in the ambulatory setting
- Verify patient identification and specimen labeling
- Register patients and enter lab orders into the lab computer system
- Perform routine and complex blood-drawing procedures, including venipuncture, finger and heel sticks, and blood cultures
- Perform point-of-care testing specimen processing and EKGs in the ambulatory setting
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma/GED (Required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Ability to perform venipuncture and skin puncture
- Ability to perform finger sticks, heel sticks, and blood cultures
- Ability to perform point-of-care testing specimen processing and EKGs
- Ability to register patients and enter lab orders into a laboratory computer system
- Must work day shift, Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m., with every fifth Saturday
