About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain the dish room daily, including setting up, operating, disassembling, loading, and unloading dish machines and the three-compartment sink
  • Wash pots, pans, utensils, dishes, and food-contact items
  • Remove garbage from the dish room
  • Complete daily and weekly cleaning tasks, including mopping floors and cleaning food service equipment
  • Assemble patient meal trays accurately, safely, and on time according to meal tickets and diet restrictions
  • Prepare patient food items according to recipes and assigned par levels
  • Deliver and retrieve patient food carts and trays from designated areas
  • Clean and sanitize patient tray carts
  • Set up workstations with required supplies and food items
  • Follow food rotation policies and maintain proper hand hygiene
  • Return clean utensils and patient service ware to proper storage
  • Collect and return dirty dishes and carts to the kitchen
  • Place utensils, napkins, and condiments on trays
  • Assist with or direct scheduled cleaning duties
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • ANSI Accredited Food Handler Training within 30 days of employment
  • Ability to follow recipes, assigned par levels, meal tickets, and patient diet restrictions
  • Ability to maintain excellent hand hygiene throughout the shift
  • Ability to clean and sanitize dishwashing areas, equipment, utensils, pots, pans, and patient tray carts
  • Ability to work evening shifts from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm
  • Ability to work every other weekend
  • Ability to work rotating holidays
