Key responsibilities & impact
  • Treat patients of all ages and serve as a role model in professional service delivery

  • Educate patients, families, caregivers, students, and healthcare providers
  • Produce clear, objective, accurate clinical documentation
  • Participate in quality-of-service activities
  • Provide occupational therapy interventions based on the evaluating OT’s plan of care
  • Complete elbow, wrist, and hand range-of-motion measurements
  • Train patients on activities of daily living, including dressing and cooking skills
  • Complete daily documentation and charging in the therapy EMR
  • Communicate patient progress and treatment recommendations to referring providers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days
  • Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant
  • Ability to follow and implement an occupational therapist’s plan of care
  • Ability to adapt interventions to patients’ physical, cognitive, and behavioral limitations
  • Ability to complete range-of-motion measurements of the elbow, wrist, and hand
  • Ability to train patients in activities of daily living, including dressing and cooking skills
  • Ability to complete documentation and charging in a therapy EMR
  • Ability to communicate patient progress and treatment recommendations to referring providers
  • Availability for one weekend per month
  • Availability for one summer and one winter holiday per year
