About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build on a growing line of business for Caris by leveraging multiple capabilities to cultivate relationships and develop business contracts with pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients
  • Work internally with the company's scientific and medical leadership to define and package the services and information products
  • Position those laboratory and bioinformatics service capabilities and data sets for deal terms
  • Increase emphasis and resources dedicated to pharma sales / business development/ product development activities targeting life sciences companies
  • Drive customer outreach through multi-tier/constituent sales development and ultimately contract negotiation efforts
  • Leverage the extensive cross-functional capabilities of the company's scientific leadership, laboratory capabilities, bioinformatics, information technology, legal, medical affairs and related resources to define and execute the contracts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution required
  • 10+ years of experience proven success leading a sales or business development operation responsible for making complex institutional or capital sales into pharmaceutical clients
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a highly matrixed environment leading people managers
  • Experience in molecular biology, with knowledge of drug discovery and development processes, and/or diagnostics and platforms preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of the research and development business processes within pharma with clarity about prioritized targets, call points, internal decision-maker constituents and related insights
  • A deep understanding of (e.g. scientifically) and/or experience partnering on oncology products, lab services, therapeutic assets, bioinformatics / data, and/or clinical trial enrollment related products / services to pharma and biotech is critical
  • Track record of contributing to product development processes with demonstrated success leveraging cutting edge technology/scientific insight to translate abstract potential into tangible value-added products/services that meet unmet- and often unknown market needs
