  • Leads quality improvement initiatives, including patient satisfaction and performance metrics.
  • Provides age-appropriate care utilizing knowledge of life span development.
  • Responds to urgent staffing needs, including working at other Carilion facilities when necessary.
  • Exercises sound judgment in interpreting laws, regulations, and organizational policies, with awareness of potential impacts on reimbursement, HR, and clinical pathways.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program required.
  • 1 year in clinical discipline required with demonstrated clinical and leadership expertise.
  • Registered Nurse in the state of Virginia.
  • For Psychiatry and Behavioral Health - de-escalation training must be successfully completed within four months of hire.
  • Computer skills required for electronic medical record (EPIC).
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities and skills.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills required.
  • Must successfully complete orientation and competency validation for position.
  • Must possess ability to appropriately handle/restrain patients who may be disruptive and/or physically violent.
