About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and execute communication strategies that position Carilion Clinic as a worthy, not-for-profit healthcare resource
Steward donors through strategic, written communications that clearly illustrate donor intent, philanthropic impact, and investment outcomes
Partnering with major and principal gift officers to develop donor-facing written materials, including proposals, customized stewardship communications, and campaign narratives, to support cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies
Producing the annual Foundation Impact Report
Updating and managing the Foundation website
Working with Marketing and Communications to integrate philanthropy messages within Carilion Clinic’s existing social media communications

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree is required
A minimum of 5 years of related experience is required, including at least 3 years of experience in a specialized marketing or communications function
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation abilities
Strong analytical thinking, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
Strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, and the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
Must maintain broad knowledge across all marketing and communications areas while developing advanced expertise in one or two specific disciplines
