About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate and manage international ocean import and export shipments.
  • Provide excellent customer service by maintaining close communication with customers regarding the status of their shipments.
  • Maintain frequent communication with overseas offices and international agents to ensure smooth shipment coordination.
  • Request and monitor shipment status with shipping lines, warehouses, and logistics partners.
  • Coordinate with customs brokers to support customs clearance processes.
  • Review, process, and manage shipping documentation related to ocean freight operations.
  • Update shipment milestones, including ETA, ETD, ATA, and ATD, within CargoWise.
  • Prepare cost estimations and issue customer invoices through CargoWise.
  • Process, upload, and approve supplier invoices using the corresponding internal systems.
  • Follow up with suppliers to obtain pending invoices and supporting documentation.
  • Perform required ocean freight transmissions through Validacarga.
  • Maintain accurate shipment files and operational records.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures and customer requirements.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, carriers, customs brokers, suppliers, and international partners.
  • Identify operational issues and provide timely solutions to ensure service excellence.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Ocean Freight Operations within a Freight Forwarder environment.
  • Experience handling ocean import and/or export shipments.
  • Knowledge of international logistics and freight forwarding operations.
  • Experience coordinating with shipping lines, customs brokers, warehouses, and overseas agents.
  • Experience using CargoWise or similar freight forwarding software.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced English (written and spoken).
