About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Use power flow modeling, production cost models, and other analytical tools to support KCE's active development portfolio
Optimize interconnection costs for new project development
Support market performance for KCE's operating portfolio
Scope, run and automate studies using power flow models in support of key decision points for new and existing BESS development projects
Assist with interpretation of third-party power flow and production cost studies
Produce internal memos and presentations on transmission upgrade costs associated with existing projects
Execute production cost model studies to support market theses and commercial opportunities
Identify and implement improvements to short-term price forecasts
Build and maintain internal work aids for above responsibilities

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related technical discipline
Master's degree in electrical engineering or 2 years of experience in electrical engineering, planning, or operations in the power sector (preferred)
Experience with power flow and production cost modeling tools (e.g., Siemens PSSE, PowerWorld Simulator, PROMOD, Dayzer)
Proficient in Python, SQL, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to work in a small team
Strong organizational and time-management skills
