About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Use power flow modeling, production cost models, and other analytical tools to support KCE's active development portfolio
  • Optimize interconnection costs for new project development
  • Support market performance for KCE's operating portfolio
  • Scope, run and automate studies using power flow models in support of key decision points for new and existing BESS development projects
  • Assist with interpretation of third-party power flow and production cost studies
  • Produce internal memos and presentations on transmission upgrade costs associated with existing projects
  • Execute production cost model studies to support market theses and commercial opportunities
  • Identify and implement improvements to short-term price forecasts
  • Build and maintain internal work aids for above responsibilities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related technical discipline
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering or 2 years of experience in electrical engineering, planning, or operations in the power sector (preferred)
  • Experience with power flow and production cost modeling tools (e.g., Siemens PSSE, PowerWorld Simulator, PROMOD, Dayzer)
  • Proficient in Python, SQL, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work in a small team
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
