About the role

  • Provide strategic oversight of accounting and statutory compliance activities across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Work alongside the Technical Accounting team to interpret complex accounting and financial reporting requirements to ensure accurate statutory reporting in compliance with local GAAP, IFRS, and corporate policies.
  • Maintain standardized statutory reporting frameworks, templates, and system configurations to drive efficiency, consistency, and global compliance.
  • Lead and review end-to-end statutory reporting operations for multiple entities in Brazil, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of local statutory books and records.
  • Oversee group-to-local GAAP adjustments, manage statutory audit timelines, and ensure timely local ledger closes.
  • Collaborate with regional teams to deliver high-quality annual financial statements and regulatory filings within established deadlines.
  • Direct the preparation, review, and analysis of statutory financial statements and disclosures for complex legal entity structures.
  • Provide in-depth analysis of financial results, variances, and trends to support audit readiness, compliance reviews, and management decision-making.
  • Ensure full alignment between local statutory requirements and group reporting standards.
  • Promote robust internal control and governance practices for statutory reporting and entity compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Control COE team, corporate business controllership, and cross-functional stakeholders to implement and monitor effective controls.
  • Identify and mitigate financial and compliance risks, promote adherence to corporate governance standards, and lead remediation efforts following audits.
  • Drive global transformation and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance statutory reporting processes, systems, and operating models.
  • Benchmark against industry best practices, promote consistent application of accounting policies, and advance the maturity and scalability of the Statutory Reporting COE.
  • Be a thought leader, promoting innovation and operational excellence in finance and business operations.
  • Manage team members to achieve organizational objectives, ensuring productivity; communicating performance expectations; aligning goals; giving and soliciting feedback; providing coaching; measuring progress and holding individuals accountable; supporting employee development; recognizing achievements and lessons learned; and fostering conditions that allow talent to thrive within an inclusive team culture.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting
  • Active CRC registration (Regional Accounting Council - Brazil)
  • Experience in Big Four external audit firms (PricewaterhouseCoopers, KPMG, Ernst & Young, Deloitte)
  • Experience with financial statements (preparation and presentation)
  • Experience in a shared services environment or Center of Excellence (COE) with multinational operations highly desirable
  • People management
  • Fluent in English
  • Advanced Spanish
  • Strong knowledge of ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, or similar) desirable
  • Experience with statutory reporting tools (e.g., BlackLine, Workiva) desirable
  • Experience with automation and analytics tools (Power BI, Alteryx) is a plus.
