About the role
- Lead the strategic direction, execution, and continuous improvement of software and systems supporting the Asset Operations department
- Work with the EVP, Asset Operations and key stakeholders from Technology and Engineering to guide vision and strategy for software and systems including SCADA, SCADA integrations, and cross-departmental initiatives related to operational excellence
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive SCADA roadmap aligned with business objectives and fleet growth
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive cross-departmental initiative roadmap aligned with business objectives and fleet growth
- Prioritize features and projects based on stakeholder input, business impact, and technical feasibility
- Lead the transition to standardized architectures and scalable processes to minimize incremental workload across departments
- Drive user acceptance testing (UAT) and process improvements across SCADA and integrated products
- Implement best practices for documentation, code management, and release tracking
- Champion cross-functional collaboration to clarify requirements, resolve scope gaps, and improve delivery outcomes
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in battery energy storage systems (BESS)
- 8+ years of experience in energy
- Undergraduate degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics or other technical field preferred, with an MBA and/or advanced degree in engineering, finance, business, or related management a plus
- Deep technical knowledge of lithium-ion batteries and the grid-scale energy storage industry
- Demonstrated experience in product management, project execution, and cross-functional leadership
- Strong understanding of SCADA systems, industrial protocols, and product integrations
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, drive process improvements, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent oral and written communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to successfully meet deadlines under pressure
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work in a small team
- Willingness to travel up to 20% for site visits and company events
- Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of working at a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Must have the ability to identify and distinguish colors
