About the role

  • Unload railcars into rail hoppers and/or unload trucks at the truck dumper, following all applicable procedures.
  • Inspect the truck and railcar unloading area daily: check equipment routes and condition, maintain workplace organization, and perform scale verification according to procedure.
  • Maintain contact with the gate team to define/confirm product by dumper line/railcar and to authorize entry for unloading.
  • Instruct drivers to position and park trucks on the truck dumper, direct drivers to the waiting area during unloading, perform cargo weighing, and carry out the current platform locking procedures to ensure unloading safety.
  • For truck unloading, open covers and chutes/spouts. For railcar unloading, cut seals and fasteners outside the hopper, attach labels, confirm weight on the scale, open top hatches, inspect the cargo for quality and verify it matches the product listed on the shipping documents, then open doors and spouts to proceed with unloading. Ensure closure of spouts, doors and hatches after complete discharge.
