About the role

  • Drive and support Animal Nutrition and Health business objectives and species growth strategies through innovation, new product development and research needs across the business on a global approach.
  • Lead development of short and long term strategic new products, solutions and services through research partnerships.
  • Identify, set and drive the strategic direction to ensure effective evolution and science behind global implementation of new products and solutions.
  • Build the research team to be a world class R&D team within the animal industry.
  • Partner collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to develop technology innovations.
  • Provide strategic leadership, development and talent management activities for direct reports and their organizations.
  • Execute with excellence within research ecosystem including innovation centres and technology applications centers.
  • Create and maintain the budget and expenses for the related team.
  • Support the Strategic Marketing and Technology Innovation engine.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in animal science, veterinary and related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of eight years of related work experience in animal nutrition or health with focus on swine or poultry, five years of supervisory experience
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to travel 25-30% of the time.
  • PhD degree in animal science, veterinary or related field preferred.
  • 15 years research and development work in animal nutrition or health, with a focus on swine or poultry (preferably both) and minimum of 5 years in strategic role preferred.
  • At least 8 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience leading development of a network of external alliances with potential partners and prominent research organizations.
  • Broad expertise in animal nutrition in several species, biology, physiology, veterinary.
  • Experience managing and developing high performing teams.
  • Curiosity and interest to work in a global and multicultural environment.
