About the role
- Drive and support Animal Nutrition and Health business objectives and species growth strategies through innovation, new product development and research needs
- Lead development of short and long term strategic new products, solutions and services through research partnerships
- Identify, set and drive strategic direction to ensure effective evolution of products and solutions
- Build world class R&D team within the animal industry
- Partner collaboratively with stakeholders to develop technology innovations
- Provide leadership for development and talent management activities for direct reports
- Build effective scientific key thought leadership aligned with species
- Develop strategies, processes and control mechanisms for compliance with laws and regulations
- Create and maintain budget and expenses for team
Requirements
- Master’s degree in animal science, veterinary and related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of eight years of related work experience in animal nutrition or health with focus on swine or poultry, five years of supervisory experience
- Fluent in English
- Open to travel 25-30%
- PhD degree in animal science, veterinary or related field (preferred)
- 15 years research and development work in animal nutrition or health, with a focus on swine or poultry (preferably both) and minimum 5 years in strategic role (preferred)
- At least 8 years of supervisory experience (preferred)
- Experience building external alliances with potential partners and research organizations (preferred)
- Broad expertise in animal nutrition, biology, physiology, veterinary (preferred)
