About the role
- Perform routine analytical and laboratory tests to support food safety quality and assurance levels
- Conduct tests and document results in databases
- Work independently within a multifunctional team, acting as the focal point for laboratory routines
- Keep laboratory supplies stocked by performing inventory, placing orders, and verifying receipts
- Assist in evaluating and interpreting high-complexity data, identifying issues with atypical test results and consulting with senior staff
- Troubleshoot by examining and evaluating data; select corrective actions
- Perform support tests and experiments under the direction of more senior team members
- Use safe laboratory practices to protect yourself and others; ensure workstations are functioning properly, participate routinely in safety meetings, and perform preventive maintenance and calibration of complex standard equipment and instruments
- Handle complex administrative, technical, or customer support issues with minimal supervision, escalating only the most complex matters to the appropriate team
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biology, or related fields, with active professional registration where applicable
- Good knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
- Knowledge of bromatological analyses (food composition analysis)
- Experience in laboratory routines, preferably focused on physicochemical analyses
- Preferred: knowledge of analytical investigations
