About the role
- Justify, plan, and execute projects.
- Identify and communicate facility maintenance needs, develop office floor plans, and seek out appropriate furnishings or Company facilities.
- Develop request for quotes (RFQ’s), calculate returns on investment, and create capital project documentation.
- Create and manage project timelines, provide updates, develop reports, maintain records, give presentations, generate CAD drawings, generate Sketch Up drawings and estimates for projects.
- Evaluate building structures, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, hoist, and bridge systems, and/or other infrastructure for condition, performance, and compliance to applicable codes and standards.
- Investigate and implement new processes and technologies to improve operations and reduce costs.
- Utilize root-cause analysis to identify and eliminate problems.
- Develop documentation for justification and approval of facility improvement projects.
- Create, update, and maintain facility drawings.
- Work with appropriate company staff to plan, design, bid, and install new facility amenities such as furniture and / or signage.
- Assist personnel in ongoing design and acquisition of materials and services.
- Ensure efforts are in accordance with established guidelines to assure consistency and cost effectiveness.
- Responsibilities will include interaction with outside vendors / contractors, as well as company facilities staff.
- Assist with strategic and proactive planning.
- Communicate relevant information to various stakeholders.
- Conduct and complete sites assessments.
- Identify improvement opportunities and work with corresponding teams in implementing improved maintenance practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 2-4 years related experience
- Bachelor’s degree (Engineering)
- Occasional travel (10-25%)
- Occasional overnight stays (10-25%)
- Job requires employee to drive a personal vehicle to conduct company business < 20% per week (8 hours) and/or travel locally between company locations during scheduled workday
- Working knowledge of industrial and office building structures and related maintenance requirements.
- Construction and/or project management experience (including scheduling and cost estimating).
- Lean/Process improvement experience.
- Able to interpret and update architectural and mechanical drawings and schematics
- Good organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
