About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Team leadership — manage and mentor a team of accountants to deliver accurate, timely, high-quality work
  • Full-cycle accounting oversight — review reconciliations, financial reports, and month-end close deliverables across multiple client files
  • Operational excellence — ensure UpCounting's accounting processes are followed consistently and improve them where needed
  • Client support & communication — help clients understand their numbers, communicate insights clearly, and ensure smooth financial operations
  • System & process optimization — identify automation opportunities and contribute to scalable, efficient workflows alongside Controllers and senior leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting management, ideally within a firm or multi-client environment
  • High proficiency in QuickBooks Online and/or Xero (NetSuite is a bonus)
  • Strong technical foundation across full-cycle accounting, reconciliations, and month-end processes
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills — you elevate the people around you
  • Excellent English — this is a client-facing role
  • Comfortable using automation tools and improving processes
  • A calm, structured leadership style — you bring clarity without micromanagement
  • Based in Latin America with availability to work EST hours
  • eCommerce client experience is preferred; FP&A or financial modeling experience is an asset
