About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage active civil defense cases through all stages of litigation, from case strategy and discovery to depositions, court hearings, and settlement/trial preparation
Handle civil litigation matters from inception to resolution under attorney supervision
Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, and case evaluations
Take and defend depositions
Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
Conduct legal research and formulate case strategies
Communicate regularly with clients, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel
Manage caseloads across commercial litigation, insurance coverage/bad faith, construction defect, employment law, healthcare, and professional liability

Requirements

What you’ll need

1–5 years in civil litigation
Insurance defense, personal injury, construction defect, or employment litigation strongly preferred
Strong research, writing, and organizational skills
Ability to manage competing deadlines
Minimum 1,800 annual billable hours target
Must be admitted/licensed to practice law (required for an attorney role)
