About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage active civil defense cases through all stages of litigation, from case strategy and discovery to depositions, court hearings, and settlement/trial preparation
  • Handle civil litigation matters from inception to resolution under attorney supervision
  • Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, and case evaluations
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
  • Conduct legal research and formulate case strategies
  • Communicate regularly with clients, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel
  • Manage caseloads across commercial litigation, insurance coverage/bad faith, construction defect, employment law, healthcare, and professional liability

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1–5 years in civil litigation
  • Insurance defense, personal injury, construction defect, or employment litigation strongly preferred
  • Strong research, writing, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Minimum 1,800 annual billable hours target
  • Must be admitted/licensed to practice law (required for an attorney role)
