About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Communicate regularly and empathetically with clients regarding highly sensitive, trauma-related topics.
- Review extensive institutional records, historical data, and sensitive client documentation.
- Draft pleadings, specialized discovery, and substantive motions tailored to public entity liability and child/adult sexual abuse statutes.
- Take and defend sensitive depositions of survivors, institutional representatives, and experts.
- Coordinate with medical and psychological experts to build comprehensive damage models.
- Argue law and motion matters and actively participate in trial preparation.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active member in good standing with the State Bar of California.
- Experience in plaintiff-side litigation; specific experience in sexual abuse, elder abuse, civil rights, or public entity liability is highly preferred.
- High emotional intelligence (EQ), exceptional discretion, and a trauma-informed approach to client communication.
- Superior organization and the ability to handle a high volume of complex, project-based files.
- Strong legal writing and advocacy skills.
