About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Communicate regularly and empathetically with clients regarding highly sensitive, trauma-related topics.
  • Review extensive institutional records, historical data, and sensitive client documentation.
  • Draft pleadings, specialized discovery, and substantive motions tailored to public entity liability and child/adult sexual abuse statutes.
  • Take and defend sensitive depositions of survivors, institutional representatives, and experts.
  • Coordinate with medical and psychological experts to build comprehensive damage models.
  • Argue law and motion matters and actively participate in trial preparation.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Active member in good standing with the State Bar of California.
  • Experience in plaintiff-side litigation; specific experience in sexual abuse, elder abuse, civil rights, or public entity liability is highly preferred.
  • High emotional intelligence (EQ), exceptional discretion, and a trauma-informed approach to client communication.
  • Superior organization and the ability to handle a high volume of complex, project-based files.
  • Strong legal writing and advocacy skills.
