About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist attorneys with estate planning, trust administration, and probate matters
- Draft estate planning and trust funding documents
- Prepare real estate transfer documents and assist with asset transfers and beneficiary changes
- Assist with probate and trust litigation pleadings
- Help prepare estate tax returns and organize supporting documentation
- Assist with the formation and maintenance of business entities, including LLCs and nonprofit corporations
- Prepare correspondence, memoranda, and draft pleadings for attorney review
- Maintain client files and ensure documents are properly organized and filed
- Track estate planning deadlines, critical dates, and checklists
- Participate in client meetings and conference calls, and assist with meeting materials and notes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree required
- Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of Trust & Estates experience in a law firm environment
- Probate experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Westlaw, and Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience supporting attorneys at depositions, mediations, and arbitrations
- Experience with iManage or a similar document management system preferred
- Notary commission is a plus
