About the role
- Business Litigation Attorney role based in El Segundo, California for an award-winning mid-size law firm serving businesses, individuals, trustees, and families across Southern California
- Role focuses primarily on business and real estate litigation (~60–70% of caseload) with additional exposure to probate, trust, and estate litigation (~30–40%)
- This is not an estate planning position; focus remains on litigation
- Handle legal research, pleadings, motions, discovery, court appearances, and trial preparation
- Work closely with managing partners and support staff on case strategy and client management
- Participate in case intake, client communications, and negotiations
Requirements
- Member of the California Bar and in good standing
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- 2–5 years of litigation experience, ideally focused on business and/or real estate matters
- Ability to handle all aspects of business and real estate litigation: legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, discovery, court appearances, trial preparation
- Experience with breach of contract, commercial lease disputes, and partnership disagreements
- Exposure to probate or trust litigation is a plus
- Comfortable managing multiple cases and deadlines
- Team-oriented, proactive, and professional
- Interest in long-term growth within a litigation-focused practice
