About the role

  • Handle all aspects of complex, high-exposure litigation, including case evaluation, strategy, discovery, law and motion, depositions, and trial preparation
  • Manage real estate disputes, including matters involving purchase/sale agreements, lease disputes, construction defects, zoning, and property ownership.
  • Assist with commercial litigation, including breach of contract, partnership and shareholder disputes, and construction matters.
  • Draft and respond to discovery, pleadings, and motions.
  • Attend court appearances, hearings, and mediations.
  • Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and experts.
  • Support senior attorney and manage junior matters independently as appropriate
  • The firm expects associates to bill 1800 billable hours annually.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active member of the California State Bar in good standing
  • 1–5 years of litigation experience, preferably in real estate, business, or commercial litigation.
  • Must be a driven team player with excellent litigation, writing, and persuasive speaking skills, possess a strong academic background, and have exceptional research skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage litigation matters with minimal handholding
  • Courtroom experience is a plus.
  • Transactional experience (e.g., contract drafting, entity formation) is a bonus
  • The firm expects associates to bill 1800 billable hours annually.
