About the role
- Handle all aspects of complex, high-exposure litigation, including case evaluation, strategy, discovery, law and motion, depositions, and trial preparation
- Manage real estate disputes, including matters involving purchase/sale agreements, lease disputes, construction defects, zoning, and property ownership.
- Assist with commercial litigation, including breach of contract, partnership and shareholder disputes, and construction matters.
- Draft and respond to discovery, pleadings, and motions.
- Attend court appearances, hearings, and mediations.
- Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and experts.
- Support senior attorney and manage junior matters independently as appropriate
- The firm expects associates to bill 1800 billable hours annually.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active member of the California State Bar in good standing
- 1–5 years of litigation experience, preferably in real estate, business, or commercial litigation.
- Must be a driven team player with excellent litigation, writing, and persuasive speaking skills, possess a strong academic background, and have exceptional research skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage litigation matters with minimal handholding
- Courtroom experience is a plus.
- Transactional experience (e.g., contract drafting, entity formation) is a bonus
- The firm expects associates to bill 1800 billable hours annually.
