About the role
- Develop and maintain the overall data networking architecture, ensuring it aligns with the organization's goals and future growth.
- Plan and implement network upgrades and expansions, keeping abreast of emerging technologies.
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the data networking infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Monitor network performance and ensure optimal uptime, troubleshooting and resolving issues promptly.
- Implement and enforce network security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data and maintain compliance with relevant regulations.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Evaluate network capacity and bandwidth requirements, planning for future growth and scaling as needed.
- Optimize network performance and efficiency.
- Maintain comprehensive network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and SOPs.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies related to data networking.
- Identify opportunities for technology improvements and make recommendations for implementation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent.
- 10+ years experience in data networking design, implementation, and management.
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols including but not limited to:
- o Local and Wide area networks (Cisco, MPLS, DMVPN GRE)
- o Global and Local Load Balancers (F5/Cisco)
- o ISP/Co-Location Providers
- o Web Application Firewalls, F5 and Imperva a plus
- o Network security (Cisco, Palo Alto, ClearPass)
- o DNS infrastructure
- o Monitoring tools: Riverbed, Solarwinds, Splunk, Ganglia
- o Superior problem-resolution skills
- o Routing protocols: BGP, EIGRP, OSPF
- In-depth knowledge of network best practices and network security.

- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
