About the role
- Assisting the therapist with providing respiratory therapy according to the physician orders, including aerosol medication delivery, lung expansion and airway clearance modalities.
- Assist the respiratory therapist with the set up and administration of oxygen using a variety of devices.
- Clean, set up and perform pre-service testing of respiratory equipment such as ventilators and non-invasive ventilators.
- Deliver respiratory therapy equipment to therapist as needed.
- Stock respiratory therapy supplies on nursing units and specialty areas.
- Deliver oxygen tanks to nursing units and specialty areas.
Requirements
- Enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Respiratory Therapy Resident is expected to graduate within 8 months from a Respiratory Therapy program
