About the role
- Assists BCBA with baseline and ongoing assessments of new clients using appropriate assessment protocols and procedures.
- Implements programs to address socially significant needs of the client ensuring therapy is conducted to establish and maintain cooperation, promote self-advocacy, autonomy, and engagement.
- Works with BCBA to implement programming to promote communication skills.
- Creates, prepares and organizes instructional materials.
- Trains and monitors BTs and RBTs in the implementation of programs, and behavioral intervention procedures.
- Works directly with the client, modifying existing protocols and probing new skills as directed by the BCBA.
- Collaborates with family during Family Treatment Guidance sessions.
- Communicates effectively with parents, caregivers, and other professionals as instructed.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree is required.
- Must obtain RBT within 120 days of employment.
- At least 2,000 hours of training or supervised experience in the use of behaviorally based therapy models for children with autism spectrum disorders who meet all criteria to receive this service.
- Must be able to independently and repeatedly lift, move, and carry objects weighing up to thirty-five (35) lbs.
