About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support annual tax return preparation for individuals, trusts, and foundations using tax software
- Assist with the preparation and payment of quarterly estimate tax payments
- Meet and correspond with other advisors or professionals including attorneys, CPAs, and investment advisors to collaborate on servicing shared clients
- Research and analyze tax-related compliance and planning questions utilizing available research tools
- Maintain and update client files and records as appropriate
- Build internal network to enhance efficiency of the team and promote tax service offering
- Add value to internal meetings by actively engaging in and being prepared for discussions centered around tax processes, tax preparation issues, and other matters that impact the effectiveness and efficiency of the tax team
- Effectively communicate with colleagues and supervisors on project status, open items, and assistance needed
- Technology focused with opportunities to assist in developing and improving tax processes
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1–3 years of public accounting experience preparing income tax returns (internship experience considered)
- Foundational understanding of debits, credits, and basic bookkeeping concepts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and the full Microsoft Office suite
- Proficiency in Adobe
- Basic knowledge of federal and state income tax laws
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or progress toward CPA preferred
- Strong work ethic, professional demeanor, and client service focus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to demonstrate high personal ethics, integrity, and confidentiality
- Organized, detail-oriented, and motivated to learn and grow in a team environment
