About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build long-term meaningful relationships with business owners
- Understand customers' businesses and goals and help them achieve greater success
- Use a consultative approach to optimize rewards and benefits from products
- Serve as a trusted advisor and informed teacher to business owners
- Grow customer purchase volume in the assigned territory
- Manage all aspects of the sales cycle
- Conduct outreach to business owners to set appointments
- Assess current customers' needs using a consultative approach
- Drive existing account engagement
- Educate customers on the Capital One value proposition and business solutions
- Teach customers how to leverage purchasing, travel, and electronic accounts payable payment solutions
- Learn purchasing needs and behaviors of current customers
- Analyze total business spend to identify opportunities for additional products and services
- Build broad and technical product knowledge and understand customer processes
- Assist customers with incorporating products into purchasing platforms and bookkeeping software
- Maintain and update CRM systems for data compliance
- Drive incremental card charge volume with existing customers
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 3 years of sales experience
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
- 5 years of outside customer sales experience as an individual contributor, driving new acquisition and managing a client portfolio (preferred)
- 1 year of experience working with Small Businesses Customers (preferred)
- 1 year of experience in the financial services industry (preferred)
- Proficiency using Salesforce.com (preferred)
- Proficiency using Google Suite (preferred)
- Ability to secure appointments directly with customers
- Proven experience growing existing customers in the field
- Relationship building and strategic selling skills
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, telephone, and PC skills
- Excellent needs-based oral presentation skills
- Project and process management, interpersonal influence, networking, project ownership, and workflow management skills
