About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own reporting and forecasting for Capital One’s marketing expenses
  • Manage P&L performance and provide Card Leadership with financial insights to influence strategy and drive business outcomes
  • Formulate and articulate analytics and insights as a compelling financial story
  • Identify and address potential financial risks and opportunities
  • Foster trusted relationships with peers and senior leaders
  • Perform financial reporting and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and P&L management
  • Coordinate and collect input data from Financial Analysts in different departments
  • Check data integrity, summarize and convert data, run models, verify and analyze output data
  • Assist in developing presentations communicating analysis results to senior audiences
  • Handle ad-hoc requests and special projects
  • Independently manage and prioritize workload
  • Prepare P&L and other statements through financial data analysis
  • Create reports for higher-level associates
  • Provide management and business clients with project statuses
  • Support reporting and analysis for presentations and ad-hoc requests

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
  • At least 4 years of experience in financial analysis, financial modeling, or a combination
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA)
  • Preferred: Accounting, Finance, or Economics
  • Preferred: Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
  • Preferred: At least 5 years of experience in financial analysis, modeling, or a combination
