About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide thought leadership to identify and engage key community leaders
  • Manage the team that conducts research and market scans to identify, analyze, and vet possible partners
  • Create and manage critical relationships with various community leaders
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the entire enterprise to monitor and evaluate risks
  • Create and facilitate learning agendas
  • Attend key conferences and convenings nationwide
  • Develop regional and national investment strategies
  • Lead strategic initiatives on behalf of Market Engagement, CI&I and Global External Affairs
  • Create presentations and reports to bring market insights to CI&I and other business lines
  • Partner closely with market teams and analytics program teams to write proposals for new investments
  • Represent Capital One externally to tell the story of Capital One’s community and business investments
  • Learn about the business priorities and determine where our investments can assist with meeting or enhancing business objectives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or military experience
  • At least 8 years of experience in project management, process management, project delivery, or any combination of the three
  • At least 4 years of experience working in a for-profit company
  • At least 5 years of experience in people leadership
  • Experience in market analysis
  • Experience with complex stakeholder management
  • Experience with the external community in the Mid-Atlantic, Southeast and South Central (specifically DC, Maryland, Northern Virginia, Richmond, Atlanta, South Florida, Louisiana & Texas)
  • Experience working for a financial services company
  • Experience delivering on Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) investments
  • Experience in sales or other domains deeply dependent on the quality of relationship management
  • Experience using AI to create efficiencies
  • Community organizing, nonprofit, or political experience.
