Key responsibilities & impact

Apply your strategic and analytical skills supporting Capital One’s Upmarket credit card business
Advise the business team responsible for Capital One Card’s flagship products on critical topics
Partner with the business by strategizing about new products, features, and promotions
Investigate and assess legal and business risks, and advise on customer initiatives to deliver value

Requirements

What you’ll need

Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
Active member in good standing of at least one state bar
At least 4 years of experience as an attorney in a law firm, at a government agency, as a military judge advocate or as in-house legal department
5+ years of experience as an attorney in a law firm, in-house legal department, or government agency involving consumer regulatory experience, credit card programs or financial services
6+ years of legal counsel or compliance experience with consumer finance laws, regulations and disclosures
In-house legal department experience
Understanding of Regulation Z, UDAAP, consumer financial laws and privacy laws
Ability to work in a dynamic environment and flexibility to adapt to changing needs
Ability to identify and describe legal risks presented by a complex business model
Ability to build collegial and effective relationships with attorneys, business managers, creative teams, analysts, project managers, and corporate compliance professionals, and work cooperatively to resolve issues smoothly and quickly
Ability to prioritize a significant volume of work and to manage multiple, simultaneous deadlines
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence others.
