About the role

  • Review loan documentation, third party documents, and investor guidelines to identify applicable insurance requirements
  • Identify deficiencies in current policies and collaborate with agents and borrowers to resolve non-compliant items
  • Analyze insurance certificates, binders, full policies, and endorsements to ensure accuracy and adequacy
  • Evaluate the risk associated with insurance deficiencies and holistically manage waiver processes
  • Maintain a deep understanding of core coverages and articulate their necessity in protecting underlying assets
  • Partner with internal lines of business and external stakeholders to provide expert guidance on insurance matters
  • Manage force-placed insurance processes and represent the department in audits
  • Proactively identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve departmental efficiency

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
  • At least 3 years of experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on commercial risk, underwriting, or compliance
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience (preferred)
  • 4+ years of experience working with Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac (GSE) Multifamily Loans (preferred)
  • Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), or Certified Risk Manager (CRM) certification (preferred)
