About the role
- Develop a compelling narrative using operational and payments risk data to influence business partners and articulate the "so-what" of risks existing in their processes.
- Deliver comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual payment type reporting that provide insights into operational performance, risk posture and progress on strategic initiatives.
- Manage the end-to-end payments use case inventory, ensuring all payment processes are mapped to critical requirements and gathering evidence to demonstrate consistent adherence to policy.
- Partner with Product, Tech, and Operations leaders as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in payments risk, to challenge strategic initiatives and ensure operational risk is considered throughout the product lifecycle.
- Partner with Business Analysts and Data teams to evolve monitoring processes by integrating advanced capabilities (such as AI or automated analytics) to drive sustainability, scale, and operational efficiency.
- Translate payments-related issues, risk events, and metrics into actionable risk mitigation strategies.
- Establish payments governance and monitoring routines for the Discover integration, ensuring seamless alignment across diverse internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
- At least 3 years of People Leadership experience
- At least 3 years of experience in risk management, audit, or governance and oversight roles
- At least 5 years experience in the banking or financial industry
- At least 3 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal and external stakeholders
- Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience (Preferred Qualification)
- At least 5 years of People Leadership experience (Preferred Qualification)
- At least 4 years of experience in risk management, audit, or governance and oversight roles (Preferred Qualification)
- At least 3 years of project management experience leading cross functional projects or programs (Preferred Qualification)
- At least 5 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal and external stakeholders (Preferred Qualification)
- At least 3 years of experience working in payments (Preferred Qualification)
- At least 3 years of process management experience (Preferred Qualification)
- Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) certification or Accredited Payments Risk Professional (APRP) certification (Preferred Qualification)
