About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Apply risk management, project management and analytical skills to high-profile risk initiatives
- Identify and mitigate potential risks to Capital One
- Lead, advise and innovate on transformational initiatives across business lines
- Work with business teams and stakeholders to develop products, processes, marketing, supporting technologies and risk management practices
- Support risk/return trade-off decisions
- Lead risk framework discussions and drive solutions to improve the risk profile
- Participate in risk forums and business reporting routines
- Lead ad-hoc projects to improve processes or the control environment
- Synthesize data and reporting, perform analysis, and provide proactive business insights
- Deliver results and improvements aligned with business and risk agendas
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess impacts on supported business areas
- Collaborate across risk, compliance, legal, privacy, operations and enterprise management functions
- Partner with internal business clients and key stakeholders
- Drive cross-functional opportunities to improve brand, processes and risk management
- Set direction, manage expectations and lead cross-functional teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience
- At least 5 years of experience working in risk management or financial services
- At least 4 years of program management experience
- At least 4 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients

- Preferred: Masters Degree
- Preferred: 6+ years of Project Management experience leading cross functional projects and programs in Risk
- Preferred: 6+ years of program management experience leading cross functional risk programs
- Preferred: 6+ years of financial services risk management experience
- Preferred: 3+ years experience in Agile or design thinking
- Preferred: 4+ years of Compliance, Legal, Audit, or first or second line Risk Management experience
- Preferred: 4+ years of Project or ProcessManagement experience
- Preferred: 3+ years of experience in reporting and analyzing data
- Preferred: CRMA or CRCM certification
- Preferred: PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
