About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and execute proactive communication, talent, and tastemaker campaigns and team operations under senior team guidance
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to execute program elements
  • Liaise with media on inbound media inquiries
  • Create media messaging, pitches, media lists, briefing books, and executive social posts
  • Provide project management support, including workback plans, project trackers, and actionable meeting follow-ups
  • Assist with measurement and media coverage reports
  • Coordinate contract deliverables and logistics for talent and tastemaker partners
  • Manage and optimize communications reporting and analytics
  • Support external communications for Capital One’s Premium Products and Experiences line of business, including Premium Products & Travel and Loyalty, Marketing & Spend Experiences
  • Support executive thought leadership and vet business engagements for reputation risk

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or military experience
  • At least 3 years of external communications experience
  • Exceptional judgment
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to build relationships in a highly matrixed environment
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read data and the room
  • Passion for storytelling
  • Empathy, teamwork, and a sense of humor
  • Public relations or communications experience in financial services, technology, or consumer brands preferred
