About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify business challenges and opportunities and use analysis to make strategic or tactical recommendations
  • Perform modeling and analytics for new product and pricing strategies across lending products
  • Support direct-to-consumer marketing and strategic intent for retail-channel products
  • Build targeted insights for new customer experiences, breakthrough technology, and go-to-market strategies
  • Improve credit performance by connecting future consumer credit trends to historical behavior
  • Create risk models and test hypotheses through rigorous monitoring and analysis
  • Frame problems, develop and test hypotheses, analyze results, develop solutions, assess operational feasibility, lead implementation, and develop monitoring plans
  • Partner with IT, Sales, Operations, Finance, and other Capital One colleagues to improve quality, volume, service, and profitability
  • Establish frameworks for integrating Gemini, Claude, and Capital One's AI Platform into analyst workflows
  • Gather user context, engineer workflows with Claude, drive development of credit tools, and support enterprise adoption
  • Identify and operationalize AI use cases and disseminate learnings across the department

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 2 years of professional experience performing analysis
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, or Master's degree in a quantitative field/MBA with a quantitative concentration; degree must be obtained by the scheduled start date
  • Quantitative field such as Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Capital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization
  • Preferred: Master's Degree in Business or a quantitative field
  • Preferred: 1+ years of experience in statistical model building
  • Preferred: 1+ years of experience in market research
  • Preferred: 1+ years of experience in SQL querying
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in business analysis
  • Preferred: 1+ years of experience in consulting
