Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the Core Technical Program Management tower at Capital One

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 7 years of experience managing technical programs
  • Strong technical background, ideally building highly scalable platforms, products, or services
  • Ability to identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the delivery lifecycle
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and influencing skills
  • Quantitative approach to problem solving and systems-thinking capability
  • Experience leading TPMs and developing a TPM team and practice
  • Ability to simplify technically complex topics and drive decisions across product, engineering, design, and data science
  • Strong execution, follow-through, accountability, and results focus
  • Ability to collaborate across functions, organizations, and reporting boundaries
  • High emotional intelligence, listening skills, and empathy
  • No employer-sponsored immigration support available for this position
  • Preferred: 5+ years designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing
  • Preferred: 3+ years building distributed systems and highly available cloud services or architectures
  • Preferred: 3+ years with site reliability engineering, observability, incident response, or disaster recovery programs at scale
  • Preferred: 3+ years driving resilience or reliability engineering initiatives, including chaos engineering, failure mode analysis, or run-the-reduction programs
  • Preferred: 3+ years with Agile delivery
  • Preferred: 3+ years delivering large and complex programs
  • Experience building systems and solutions in highly regulated environments
  • MBA or Master's degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience (preferred)
