About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across Agile teams
- Build and deploy proprietary AI-powered risk management solutions with the GRC team and partners across Capital One
- Develop full-stack systems using machine learning, distributed microservices, and cloud technologies
- Use Java, Scala, Python, open-source relational and NoSQL databases, and cloud data warehouses such as Redshift and Snowflake
- Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions supporting financial empowerment
- Perform unit tests and conduct code reviews to ensure rigorous design, quality, and performance
- Stay current with technology trends, experiment with new technologies, participate in technology communities, and mentor engineers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 4 years of experience in application development (internship experience does not apply)
- At least 2 years of experience in big data technologies
- At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
- No employer sponsorship or immigration-related support is available for employment authorization
- Preferred: 7+ years of experience with data pipelines including Python, SQL, Scala, or Java
- Preferred: 4+ years of experience with a public cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
- Preferred: 4+ years of experience with distributed data/computing tools (Spark, MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Gurobi, or MySQL)
- Preferred: 4+ years of experience working on real-time data and streaming applications
- Preferred: 4+ years of experience with NoSQL implementation (Mongo, Cassandra)
- Preferred: 4+ years of data warehousing experience (Redshift or Snowflake)
- Preferred: 4+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux, including basic commands and shell scripting
- Preferred: 2+ years of experience with Agile engineering practices
- Experience leveraging interactive AI tooling beyond basic code completion
