About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support development and execution of the Network Participant Risk Management testing and monitoring strategy
- Perform testing and monitoring of first-line network participant risk management, including detailed data analysis to identify risks, problem areas, and remediation plans
- Serve as a subject matter expert to Business Risk Office and Independent Risk Management functions in assessing operational risk
- Provide guidance and effective challenge for implementing Network Participant risk management practices
- Support management and ownership of related policies and standards
- Execute challenge activities, elevate suspected risk, and provide assurance that risk-taking groups appropriately represent control environments
- Document and communicate challenge activity results and perform validation data analysis, including trending, problem identification, and remediation plans
- Consult on issue/event analysis and reporting to identify trends and changes in the Network Participant risk environment
- Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple organizations to achieve objectives
- Manage multiple priorities and risk management initiatives supporting the Network Participant Risk Management team
- Assist in developing risks, issues, and mitigation plans to address areas of exposure
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
- At least 4 years of risk management experience within the financial services industry
- At least 2 years of payment network experience
- At least 2 years of experience in third party risk or risk governance oversight
- At least 2 years of risk management, compliance or legal oversight experience
- At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position
- 5+ years of Project or Program Management experience leading cross functional programs in Risk (preferred)
- Experience creating presentations with PowerPoint or Google Slides (preferred)
- Risk management certification such as Certified Third-Party Risk Professional (CTPRP) (preferred)
