About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Advise and consult with risk and business teams to develop well-designed products, processes, and supporting technologies
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with product owners, process managers, compliance advisors, legal counsel, auditors, and risk associates
  • Manage multiple tasks independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines
  • Oversee risk event remediation affecting customers and help develop permanent corrective actions
  • Execute first-line risk assessments across the division and assist with risk mitigation plans
  • Facilitate risk assessments and consult on effective challenge
  • Review and analyze risks, assess controls, document gaps, and enhance control suite effectiveness
  • Support audits and examinations, control testing, executive reporting, RMAP coverage, PSP management and renewal/certification, Legal and Compliance office hours, and everyday risk management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 3 years of experience in banking process management, risk management, product management, or operations
  • At least 2 years of Project Management experience
  • At least 2 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients
  • 5+ years of experience in risk management, financial services, technology, or product management (preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience with risk core methodologies and risk categories (preferred)
  • Professional certifications such as Business Process Management certification, Lean or Green Belt Certification, CFE, CRM, CIA, CRMA, or CRCM (preferred)
  • Must not require new employment authorization sponsorship from Capital One
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple work streams and tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to navigate organizations collaboratively
  • Ability to blend strategic and tactical thinking with creative and analytical reasoning
  • Ability to proactively identify themes and apply learnings in ambiguous contexts
